CHANGES FOR RESTRICTED ARKANSAS-BRED STAKES RACES

Oaklawn Jockey Club and ATBHA are excited to announce that 2013 will bring higher stakes purses for Registered Arkansas-breds. The six stakes races run at Oaklawn Park restricted to registered Arkansas-breds will each have a $60,000 guaranteed purse. Oaklawn Jockey Club and ATBHA will each fund half of the purse for each race. The purses in each race will be distributed 60% to the winner, 20% to 2nd, 10% to 3rd, 5% to 4th & 3% to 5th. 2% of the purse will be divided among the remaining starters.

LOUISIANA DOWNS ACCOMMODATIONS

The 2012 Razorback and Lady Razorback (2 year-old registered Arkansas-bred futurity races) will run at Harrah’s Louisiana Downs on Saturday, September 22nd. If you are interested in reserve or club house seating and/or dining accommodations on that day, you may contact Vicky Walker at 1-800-551-2361.

How much does a fire department know about a horse farm?

Does your fire department know anything about your prop- erty other than the address?. If a fire starts, you and your helpers will hopefully be there to evacuate the horses while the fire department is enroute or just arriving at the scene. But, what is you aren’t at the scene? What if your neighbors or the firefighters are there before you?  Would they know what to expect and what their “job” should be?

OAKLAWN PARK ANNOUNCED RECORD PURSES IN ‘13

Stall applications are available for Oaklawn Park’s 2013 live racing season by calling the track’s racing office at 501- 701-5570 or by downloading the application from the Oaklawn web-site at www.oaklawn.com. The track is offer- ing almost $20 million in purses, a local record, during Oaklawn’s 2013 live season.
