NOTICE TO ATBHA BREEDERS & OWNERS
FROM DR. WILLIAM J. McGUIRE – ARKANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY (ASU) EQUINE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

Beginning in the fall of 2019, the Equine Management Program at Arkansas State University will hold an Arkansas-Bred Thoroughbred Yearling sale at the ASU Equine Center. The sale will be a major project of our new Weanling and Yearling Management class, and will provide the students with invaluable experience in sale prep and management. The sale should also be a benefit to Arkansas breeders and ASU Equine Management Program would appreciate your help in spreading the word.

The sale will be held in our indoor arena, and we have a 54 stall barn in which the yearlings could be housed and shown. Additionally, a new hotel and convention center is being built on campus, directly across Red Wolf Blvd. from the equine center to house sale attendees.

Thanks, and we look forward to seeing you at our first sale!

What is the ATBHA?

Arkansas Thoroughbred Breeders’ & Horsemen’s Association (ATBHA) was founded in April 1961. ATBHA is the official breed registry for all Registered Arkansas-bred Thoroughbreds. The registrations of the Registered Arkansas-bred Thoroughbreds are made by the association’s members to the ATBHA office. The purpose of these registrations is to qualify Registered Arkansas-bred Thoroughbreds for eligibility to run in restricted Arkansas-bred races and to qualify the owners and breeders of Registered Arkansas-bred Thoroughbreds for participation in the Owner, Breeder and/or Stallion Owner Awards program.
