Here are some of the highlights from this issue…

The historical 2021-2022 Oaklawn live meet begins December 3, 2021 and will include ten days of two-year old racing. There has been no two year old racing at Oaklawn Park since around 1973.
Additionally, the 2021-2022 meet will be the richest meet in the 118-year history of Oaklawn. It will feature maiden special weights for $84,000 and open allowances starting at $100,000. Purses for the 66 day meet will be between $45 and $50 million dollars.
The 3 day race week (Friday – Saturday – Sunday) will offer a nine race card each day, with no racing the week of Christmas or on Easter Sunday and will include a Monday race day, February 21st – President’s Day.
“A New Level of Racing” the slogan that was started a couple of years ago when Lewis Cella, Oaklawn President, announced the expansion plans for the new casino, the hotel, the event center and even expanding into the barn areas. That slogan continues to be what Oaklawn delivers year after year.
