Here are some of the highlights from this issue…

Oaklawn released its first Condition Book for the upcoming live meet, covering Dec. 8 – Jan 14, 66 days of racing with 47 stakes races. They announced that total purses for the 2023-2024 meet will be $66,000,000. The already lucrative purse structure from the previous race season will again increase. Maiden claiming purses will be $115,000 and allowance purses $140,000.

Louis Cella was the guest speaker at ATBHA Awards Banquet April 7th, 2023, explaining a little of the history between Oaklawn and ATBHA, their relationship over the years and some of the hurdles achieved. Following Mr. Cella was the announcement and presentation of awards for the 2022 racing year.
